I had the misfortune of being in the crowd for the live opening night, I wouldn't normally have bothered on the principle of 'been there done that' but my daughter wanted to go.

I must say I have never been so cold in all my fucking life, The tickets stated that doors opened at 6 and closed at 6.30 so we got there about 5 as I know there is always a huge queue etc....they didn't actually let people in til 8 ,and,  we still had 2 hours to stand about in sub zero temperatures, some people had been there a lot longer than us too. Some people were actually taken out of the arena suffering from what I suspect was hypothermia, they looked really really ill.

I'm disgusted at the organisation, I have no idea why they kept people hanging about so long in those condition, they wouldn't even let people out of the queue to get a hot drink from Tesco next door......wont be going again!!!

As for the show, well actually it was not that bad, Davina was in good form as surprisingly was the crowd, Great British  'Dunkirk spirit' shining through I think.

Losers of the night were Latoya,  for her remarks that she couldn't wait to 'get out' which the crowd obviously saw as a  'take the money and run' attitude and Ulrika for generally being disliked. Winner was quite clearly Verne who I find a bit freaky but the crowd took a real shine to him (not that many actually saw him lol)and is probably this years winner overall by sympathy default.

My personal fav and someone I was surprised to see go in was Terry Christian, I remember him well from 'The Word' a great character and a very clever guy too, hope he does well. Also liking Coolio, would love to see some refer to him as a N*****:box:

Good stuff Fats - I'm amazed by the lack of respect for the audience Channel 4 had. You'd have thought they would have at least let people go to Tescos!

As for the lineup, I think it's an interesting one. We'll all have to remember the comment from last night's highlight show when they said something along the lines of 'I can't see us ever getting in a fight together'.
I'm impressed with the people they have this year, and actually know quite a few of them. I would also have to say that Verne may get the sympathy vote and win it (he seemed like a big crowd pleaser on the first night), but I have a feeling he'll be easily annoyed at things and not afraid to show it.

I'm amazed I agree with you Fats - on initial impressions I'd say Terry and Coolio are my favourites. They both seem pretty down-to-earth and intelligent. I quite like Ulrika but I may be biased because I loved her on Shooting Stars. And I love Lucy because, well, she's gorgeous.

Should be an interesting few weeks. Anyone know how long it goes on for?

Well, it's not looking good for Live Feed - earlier this evening  the V+ box (when the red button is pressed on E4) was showing a notice:

Channel 4 is not providing additional live coverage from the Big Brother house this year.

This YEAR?

Oh well, I get my summer back then. :D

Will more or less people want to get on the show though. :S

If they know that they're not going to be seen by the public 24/7 it could go either way I suppose.

it is a disgrace that we cant see the whole picture as it gives them carte blanche in how to edit

the only good thing would be if it stopped the total attention seekers applying

good for rachel that she hasnt gone down the track of so many of them doing anything to keep in the public eye

That was hilarious!

Coolio may not quite fit in at times, but he's given some great moments so far. Some of the others *coughmichellecough* need to get over themselves and have a laugh.

I think it's always going to be harder for any house mate who isn't British (or live in Britain) to fit in - as cultural differences (however minute) are likely to be magnified over time.

Liking:
Ben
Coolio
Lucy
Terry
Tommy

Meh:
La Toya
Mutya
Verne

Dislike:
Michelle
Tina
Ulrika (which is a shame)

I'd like Ulrika to go, she's not shown much of a sense of humour and she's saying she wants to go anyway.

 Good idea Chris, I'll get thinking of a good song!

I'm a little puzzled as to why Lucy was voted out. She seemed like a nice person, and seemed to contradict the stereotypes of glamour girls. I was sure Ulrika would be voted out, but then perhaps most of the voters were jealous teenage girls ;)

Either Michelle or Ulrika for me.

At a push I'd have to go for Michelle. Boo-hoo!

I have a feeling those who don't like here will vote her out, and the ones who do like her will vote her out anyway because she wants to go.

Was glad to see Gobby go, and misery guts has walked too so not a bad nights work.

Must say I'm extremely disappointed in Coolio, his constantly going on about Michelle and Ben is so boring and has spoilt the show a bit......................... give it a rest man ffs!!!

He's still more entertaining than any of the others. Plus, he's got a very definite game plan - which (it seems) the Great British public are averse to - despite it being a game? :umm:
I also think he may be the only BB housemate in history who has stuck to his promise of 'stirring things up', so good on him.

Like:
Terry
La Toya
Coolio

Meh:
Ben
Verne
Tommy

Dislike:
Ulrika

...so I'd be happy with either Terry, La Toya or Coolio winning.

This cannot be!

If I was pushed to name one person, I'd want Terry to win. I think he has been great and has really surprised me.

Think Adam has made a good call on the top three, I would also like to see Terry win or even Latoya who has been a real revelation, not what I expected from her at all, thought she would play the 'diva' card.

But I still think Verne will win, getting the disabled sympathy vote

La Toya has been a great housemate - funny, sweet, caring and more than willing to get stuck in to the tasks. I too am surprised at how good she has been. She won't win, of course - people will misconstrued her tendency to talk in private as 'bitchiness', but that's only natural for someone as clearly sheltered as she is. I think it's been a good experience for her.

I think it might be Ben and Ulrika.
