This probably isn't the right place for this question, but I'm desperate.
Right ............ I uninstalled Zilla Popup Blocker because I didn't need it. Unfortunately, I think I've also taken out a vital part of IE as well - shared folders maybe? I now can't connect to the net using IE6 (page can't be displayed).
On startup I get a popup box stating that Zilla won't work because of missing files, and to reinstall. I can't reinstall Zilla (in the hope that it would reverse things) through Firefox. I can't uninstall and then reinstall IE6 through Add/Remove programmes as it isn't there - IE being an integrated part of XP. I can't reinstall IE6 from the Microsoft site, as the computer informs me that it's already there. I tried installing IE5, but because IE6 is 'already there' I'm not allowed to.
Taking the computer back to a Restore Point doesn't make any difference either.
Any ideas how to get IE6 back? The microsoft site talks about Registry and codes etc, but is too scary for me!
Or do I have to wait until IE7 is past the beta stage?
Thank heavens for Firefox, I say. Until next year's BB, that is.
* I have since discovered that Zilla appears to be proxy for IE. No idea why - something to do with linking on a network?? (Got two comps now).
SORTED. (Had to uncheck a box ................. )
